It's been a short week with Monday off for Memorial Day. It's also flown by so quickly I realized I didn't have a blog post together until last night. I love to collect quotes - on my Pinterest wall, print them off and frame them, paint them onto a canvas, etc. A meaningful quote has the power to give you that extra boost of confidence or that constant reminder to be more or love more. A good quote can provide reason, help calm you down, or help you realize what you're overlooking.
These three quotes have definitely struck a chord with me lately.
Food for thought below...
Have you stumbled across a quote recently that stuck in your head?

Short & Sweet - Kate Spade Surprise Sale
If anyone out there is a Kate Spade fan, you know this week was their Surprise Sale with prices up to 75% off! They don't advertise this, so you have to have an email address and zip code that are registered in their system to access the discounted items.
I've been in need of a nice black leather purse for quite some time. After looking just about everywhere and really only liking a few, I decided to just wait it out and maybe I'd look this summer when we go to Charlotte for a weekend. Just so happens, the purse that really set the twinkle in my eye was on sale this week on Kate Spade's website. After ordering it on Tuesday morning, it arrived just 2 short days later and I can say, it's the best thing I've ever bought for myself!

Weekend Happenings
Weekends are always a time of recouping from the week just ended and relaxing in preparation of the week ahead. Now that it's sunny and warm, we can finally spend some time outside on the weekend and enjoy the weather!
VCOM held their graduation ceremony yesterday. I am sure everyone who graduated is ecstatic about starting residency and a new chapter of their lives. Our apartment sits adjacent to the school so I had the opportunity of watching all the graduates take pictures outside. It seemed as though while I watched them take pictures, a rush of emotions came over me. Emotions including hopefulness of the future life holds, excitement that in two years that will be us, and the pride that will flood over me when Chris walks across that stage. That's what makes all of this worth it!
Last weekend, Chris and I spent the morning at Lowes picking out the flowers and vegetables we wanted to plant this year. After having a week in their pots, I'd say they look pretty good!
Tonight, I made peach cobbler for dessert. Granted it wasn't homemade, it was a delicious mix! If you've never tried peach cobbler, I suggest you pick the up ingredients after work tomorrow. Combine the warm peach cobbler with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and you have the perfect combination for a Sunday evening dessert.

Short & Sweet - Less/More List
We've all made them. Resolutions to do less of one thing and more of another. Usually we make all these goals at the beginning of each new year, and then forget about them as the year goes on.
May has definitely crept up on me and made me realize how it's already 5 months into 2014 and I haven't been keeping up with my 2014 resolutions. I have never actually been the type of person to write down my resolutions each year, as I feel like it hinders me from obtaining them. Starting now, that's going to change. I figure if I put my less/more list out there for the world to see, maybe someone will help remind me when I'm slipping up.
Below is my less/more list for 2014. Have you thought of things you'd like to do less of and replace them with more of something else?

Short & Sweet - Time
Time really does fly by!
Crazy to think it's actually May of 2014 already! This time two years ago, Chris and I were getting ready to spend a weekend in Miami with our friends Tim and Becca. Two years from now, we will be planning a move to residency.
There always seems to be something in the future that I look forward to, so much so that I want time to fly by. After it's over, I'm always left wondering what's next to look forward to. I think it's time I slowed down and appreciated every day for what it is. I'm going to start focusing on tomorrow...a new day with new opportunities and new experiences. I think sometimes we may glance over the little things that make every day a treasure. The friends and family we have who love us, the coworkers and colleges who appreciate us, the comfort of home. The list goes on and on.
My goal for every day going forward is to slow down, appreciate every moment, and enjoy the little things. I challenge you to do the same!
